Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and hurricane damage in Honduras, your help is needed more than ever!

Thank you for visiting our website. Mission Honduras LeMars is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization begun in the fall of 2002. Working in the second poorest country in the western hemisphere, our primary purpose is charitable. Our mission focuses on the areas of health care and medicine, water projects, home building, and supplemental food programs in support of the areas around Montaņa de la Flor, Nueva Capital and Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We dedicate this effort to the poor people of this area of Honduras in attempting to improve the condition of their lives.

Malnourishment in children causes stunting. Stunting affects both physical growth and brain development; therefore, stunted children are not only smaller but also lose the capacity to learn to their fullest potential. Stunted children are also more susceptible to infections, which can lead into greater poverty for their families. After the age of 2, cognitive ability in stunted children lags 1-2 years behind nonstunted children, and stunted children will never catch up.

"That the poor are invisible is one of the most important things about  them...They are not simply neglected and forgotten,
what is much worse,  they are not seen."
